On Wednesday\, June 24\, the Alameda County Fair is hosting a Pet Food Drive to benefit Valley Humane Society\, and every guest who brings a qualifying donation of unopened dog or cat food earns one free general admission until 5pm. \nWhat to Bring\nTo qualify for your free admission\, bring new\, unopened pet food in one of these amounts: \n\nCat food: 8 cans\, or 1 bag of dry food (6 lbs or more)\nDog food: 4 cans\, or 1 bag of dry food (6 lbs or more)\n\nWhat We Cannot Accept\nTo keep things running smoothly at the gate\, please leave these items at home: \n\nOpened bags of food\nLeashes\, collars\, and harnesses\nPet stairs\nPet car seats\nKennels and crates\nMedication\nLinens\, blankets\, and comforters\n\nWhere Your Donation Goes\nEvery item collected at the drive supports Valley Humane Society’s AniMeals Pet Food Pantry\, along with other animal shelters and rescues in our area. AniMeals provides pet food to families in our community who are facing financial hardship\, which helps keep beloved pets in the homes they already love instead of surrendering them during a rough stretch. \nValley Humane Society is an independent\, community-based nonprofit. We receive no government funding\, so community generosity like this is what makes programs like AniMeals possible. DESCRIPTION:Feed Furry Friends and Get into the Fair for Free\nEnjoy summer festivities at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton and make a difference for pets in need! On Wednesday\, June 19\, from 12 to 5 pm\, your pet food donation will earn you free fair admission! Any 6-lb. bag (or greater) of dry cat or dog food can be exchanged for one fair admission\, or donate eight cans of wet cat food or four cans of wet dog food per ticket. Multiple donations can be made to earn multiple tickets\, good for June 19 only\, from 12 – 5 pm. Your kindness will benefit Valley Humane’s AniMeals pet food pantry and other local shelters\, keeping pets fed and happy with their families. Stock up for fun now!
