East Bay Shelter Spreads Virtual Puppy Love

Valley Humane Society in Pleasanton has taken its canine comfort program to the virtual world. Normally, VHS’s 200 trained and certified handlers take dogs to schools, libraries, assisted living facilities or retirement homes. But with in-person visits now out of the question, VHS is doing Zoom calls with people who are isolated, hospital patients and children looking for a friend. Jessica Aguirre reports.
