Jeter Ball Proclaimed Pleasanton’s 2025 Ambassadog
PLEASANTON, California—March 19, 2025—The Pleasanton City Council crowned a new Ambassadog at its meeting on March 18. Jeter Ball took on the 2025 title, which was won at auction during Valley Humane Society’s annual Tails at Twilight gala last July. Former Ambassadog title holders include Winston Burke, Stella James, Gryphon Benn, and Jeffrey Williams.
“Valley Humane Society has been a vital part of our community for more than 35 years, and we are proud to continue partnering with them to celebrate the Pleasanton Ambassadog,” said Assistant City Manager Pamela Ott. “Jeter’s role as this year’s Ambassadog showcases Pleasanton’s dog-friendly spirit while also highlighting the incredible work Valley Humane does to support and protect companion animals throughout the Tri-Valley.”
The City of Pleasanton recognizes that creating a livable community means supporting the entire household. For those canine family members, Pleasanton offers dog-friendly policies, trails, and parks—including Jeter’s favorite playground, Cubby’s Dog Park.
Jeter’s personality is as big as his heart. He loves being around people and has spent his life bringing joy, comfort, and goofiness to everyone he meets. Jeter’s journey began at San Diego Humane Society. When he met his mom, Bennett, it was love at first sight! Now, at eleven years old, Jeter is a regular around Pleasanton, strolling through downtown, enjoying coffee stops at Inklings Coffee & Tea, or visiting Jersey Mike’s on Bernal. At home, Jeter has developed a special talent for spotting backyard intruders (namely squirrels). In addition to spending time with his favorite people and hanging out with canine siblings Ruth and Yogi, he loves a salmon snack.
The City of Pleasanton has designated a place of honor for Jeter and his family in its annual Hometown Holiday Parade. In addition to receiving a copy of the City proclamation crowning him Ambassadog, Jeter and his family will enjoy special attention on Tri-Valley Community Television, and a featured article in the Pleasanton Weekly.
The Pleasanton and Livermore Ambassadog titles are exclusive auction packages at Valley Humane’s Tails at Twilight gala, though they are on hiatus until 2026. Tickets for this year’s April 12 event are on sale now at valleyhumane.org to raise funds for the organization’s lifesaving rescue programs and enriching community services.
