ScoutsEarn a VHS Patch

Join VHS for a fun-filled workshop suited to your Scouting level. Each session is one hour in length and includes a colorful VHS patch for each participating student. Workshops meet most or all of the requirements for their respective badges.

Workshops are 1 hour in length, and dates/times will be scheduled a minimum of 30 days in advance. We will do our best to accommodate your request. Workshops that include plush/crate are $10 per student.  Please contact our Humane Education department for more information or to schedule a workshop.

Workshops are available for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Consultation Workshops are for Scouts looking to complete a service project.

Brownies: Pets Workshop

The Brownie workshop is focused on responsible pet guardianship, with a review of animal safety and pet communication. Juniors: Animal Habitats Workshop

Scouts “migrate” through the facility as an endangered species, pausing at stopover points to practice natural animal behaviors such as feeding and socializing. We discuss creating a humane backyard for urban wildlife, and make an upcycled birdfeeder to take home. Includes a behind-the- scenes tour, a Junior Workbook, and colorful VHS fun patch for each participant.
