Meet Big Bird: The Chatty Mayor of Kitty City

If you follow the sunshine and the sound of cheerful chatter, you’ll find Big Bird — Valley Humane Society’s new Mayor of Kitty City! This social butterfly has taken charge in the friendliest way possible, greeting visitors with meows and making sure every cat in the room feels seen (and sun-warmed).

Big Bird first arrived as a devoted mother, raising a litter of kittens affectionately known as the Sesame Street crew. Now that her babies have all found loving homes, it’s her turn to shine! This golden girl has settled into her role as mentor and companion to the “teenage” cats in Kitty City, overseeing playtime, nap time, and of course, Catio sunbathing sessions.

She’s especially fond of chatting with visitors — if you walk by her kennel, expect an enthusiastic “hello” and maybe a few stories about her day. Whether she’s basking in the morning light or curled up with her feline friends, Big Bird radiates warmth and calm. Her affectionate, social personality makes her a perfect fit for someone looking for a confident and communicative companion.

Big Bird is ready to retire her mayoral duties and move into a home of her own — one where she can keep the conversation going and maybe even find a new sunny spot to call her own.
