Meet Po: A Big, Bold Adoptable Cat Looking for His Forever Home

Named after Master Po Ping from Kung Fu Panda, Po lives up to his namesake in every way. He’s a 15-pound, brown-and-white Domestic Shorthair mix with a huge personality, an unwavering love of food, and the kind of confidence that fills a room. If you wave a Churu treat in his direction, this guy will do just about anything you ask, including sitting like a champ for nail trims. The Dragon Warrior would be proud.

Po arrived at Valley Humane Society on February 15. Our surgery team determined he needed his right eye surgically repaired to fix entropion, and were able to perform the surgery at our Phil Scholz Veterinary Surgery Center. Entropion is when the eyelid rolls inward and irritates the cornea. He has fully recovered and is feeling great. Po is a resilient guy, and he’s been patiently waiting nearly two months now for the right family to adopt him.

Po is talkative, affectionate, and genuinely loves people. He will supervise your every move, narrate his opinions on how you should be doing things, and then curl up in your lap when he decides the workday is over. He has been described by our staff as a “certified lover boy,” and we can confirm: he is all heart. That said, Po plays by his own rules. He can get overstimulated during handling, and he does not enjoy being picked up. He needs a family that understands cat body language and knows when to give him space.

Po also needs to be the only pet in the home. He is not a fan of other cats and prefers to reign over his kingdom solo. Think of it this way: every Dragon Warrior needs his own Palace of Jade, and Po is no exception. A calm, cat-savvy household where he can be the undisputed center of attention is where he will truly thrive.

If you have the experience, the patience, and the lap space for a big, opinionated, food-loving gentleman, Po is ready to meet you. Complete our Adoption Inquiry Form or call (925) 426-8656 to take the next step. Po’s been waiting for his person. Could that be you?
