New Volunteer Orientation

July 8 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Become a Volunteer with Valley Humane Society

Want to become an animal care volunteer with Valley Humane Society? We are hosting our New Volunteer Orientation on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. The session runs from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. It’s the first step toward joining our team.

What to Expect at the Orientation

First, you’ll get an introduction to our programs. These include dog and cat adoptions, the Phil Scholz Veterinary Surgery Center, and the AniMeals Pet Food Pantry. Additionally, we’ll cover Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy and our foster program.

Next, you’ll tour our facilities. The tour includes Kitty City and Doggie Drive. Then, you’ll meet some of the animals currently in our care.

By the end of the session, you’ll know which volunteer opportunities fit your interests. Finally, we’ll walk you through the next steps to get started.

Ways to Get Involved as a Volunteer

Our volunteers support nearly every part of our work. For example, you might walk and socialize dogs, or you can spend time with cats in Kitty City. Some volunteers help at adoption events around the Tri-Valley. Others support our AniMeals pet food pantry. You could also assist with administrative tasks or share professional skills as a Front Desk/Customer Service Volunteer. In short, there’s a role for every interest and schedule. We’ll help you find the one that fits.
